What happened

Scammers created a high-fidelity deepfake of Binance Chief Communications Officer Patrick Hillmann to impersonate him during video conference calls. They targeted cryptocurrency project executives, claiming to represent Binance and offering exchange listings in exchange for payments or assets. Patrick Hillmann later warned the community that he was being impersonated by an AI hologram.
